EMC has a comprehensive set of NAS solutions ranging from fully integrated products to gateway solutions. The EMC NAS product line, referred to as the Celerra series, includes low-end, midrange and high-end options. The EMC Celerra NSX series is its new high-end NAS offering. The EMC Celerra NSX is a gateway NAS solution that works with the Symmetrix and CLARiiON storage systems. The EMC Celerra NSX delivers three times the processing power in half the footprint of the previous generation, EMC Celerra CNS. Additionally, EMC offers the enhanced DART 5.4 Celerra operating system, which provides greater ease of use, File Retention functionality, a 16 TB file system (700% increase), single and global namespace technology as well as tighter integration with the Centera platform.
The EMC Celerra NSX is an extremely scalable system, supporting from four to eight NAS heads, which EMC calls “X-BLADES,” an EMC-designed and built, Intel-based blade server platform. Having this level of scalability allows customers to implement a NAS solution that will grow with the needs of the customers’ environments. According to Spec.org the Celerra NSX can achieve over 320,000 file operations per second,1 making it one of the highest performing NAS systems in the market.
