DoSTOR July7, 2008–Centrin Data Systems announced that the biggest professional data center in China was put into operation on June 24 in Beijing. Meets the highest international standard for fault tolerance, Centrin Data Systems Beijing data center offers a series of services: disaster backup, hosting of production and operation centers, and continuing business management to banks, insurance, securities firms and public service sectors.
Located in Yizhuang Economic Development Zone Beijing, the data center occupies 66,700 square meters.
Taikang Life Insurance Company and China Construction Bank have become the first customers of the data center. After incidents and disasters, people became aware of the importance of disaster recovery based on data center.
Experts point out that information security and disaster backup service has huge potential in China since few Chinese companies have outsourced their data center to third-party IT outsourcing service providers.
As a specialized IT outsourcing service provider, Centrin Data Systems is building up its second high-level data center in Yantai, Shandong province, which will serve as the disaster backup data center in Easter China. The vendor plans to establish more datacenters in Shanghai, Shenzhen and western China, forming a professional data service net in the next few years.
